The LDS Tabernacle built before the coming of the railroad (1869), was constructed primarily of items and materials that could be obtained locally at the time. Recently, the LDS Church undertook a renovation of the building to upgrade the structure to current building code while maintaining the significant historical value of the building. The renovation of the building included the design and placing of steel trusses to reinforce the orginal timbers in the roof structure, placing new aluminum roof panels and reinforcement of supporting columns and braces.
