Recently, City officials have publicly expressed their concern for the loss of business in the downtown, Salt Lake City area. Many large businesses have chosen to move their downtown locations to outside areas. As these businesses relocate, the city receives a reduction in patrons. Salt Lake City officials have began implementing various programs to revive the historic city. As part of the downtown Salt Lake City redevelopment attempt, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints purchased the Crossroads Plaza. Renovation of the Crossroads Plaza and ZCMI Center is currently taking place. Anderson performed an existing conditions survey of exterior building grades and features to assist the developer in its initial conceptual planning efforts. This survey included the establishment of a survey control network which remains in place today.
